THE LIFE & LEGACY OF CHIEF APOSTLE DR. C.A. KEITH.

Apostle C.A. Keith was born February 16, 1918 in Wando, South Carolina. At the age of (6) six he began working with his father. At age nine (9) Calvin worked with his father on the turpentine farm, he attended school four (4) months out of the year. The rest of the time he and his brother worked in the field, went fishing and hunted for rabbits.
He obtained his formal education in the public schools in Berkley county, South Carolina and worked in the pole woods (peeling poles). From 1937 – 1978 he worked for Koppers wood preserving company where he retired to serve as a full-time pastor.
In 1950, he was married to the late Mother Ernestine Brown Keith. In 1954 they moved to Maryville, a subdivision west of Ashley Charleston, SC. A storm named “Gracie” in 1959 came through Charleston, up-rooted a large pecan tree in their backyard, and placed it on top of their washhouse. Instead of rebuilding the washhouse , Deacon and Mother Keith obeyed the voice of the Lord and built a small church where the souls of men, women, boys and girls could be washed from their sins.
God anointed Pastor C.A. Keith as an “Apostle” in 1975 under the late Dr. C.R. Johnson. After becoming an apostle he ventured out In expanding his vision and ministry as far as the Bahamas where he was invited to dine with the Governor of Nassau in 1977. He ministered not only in the Charleston, SC but throughout the state, and surrounding areas as he traveled to the North & South East including the state of Wisconsin where many churches were planted.
He fellowshipped with world renowned Evangelist & Pastor Shirley Caesar. He attended the Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX with Bishop T.D. Jakes. Apostle Keith received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for over thirty (30) years- of pastoral labor and dedication from the Good Shepherd Award Association. June 17, 2000 he received the “Humanitarian Award” from Salvation/Deliverance Church worldwide.
His major accomplishment was when he received his Degree of “Doctor of Divinity” from Unity Bible College and Theological Seminary on December 19, 2000.
On Thursday July 14, 2005, Chief Apostle Dr. C.A. Keith entered into eternal rest (sunset). “When welcome home I hear Jesus say, Oh that will be the (sunrise) for me”.
His biological & spiritual family along with thousands of pastors, teachers, evangelist, prophets and apostles cherish his life, memories and legacy. We are all inspired to fulfill the working of the ministry and be an example to the body of Christ as been taught by such an humble, profound, loveable example of Christ as our beloved man of God “Chief Apostle Dr. C.A. Keith”.
